How long is the course?
The course will take 10 weeks to complete, if you do the weekly lessons during the week they arrive.
How does the online classroom work?
Two sessions a fortnight will be set up via an online classroom facility. You'll be able to log in with your name at a URL provided for use for the classroom. If you have a headset and mic you will be able to verbalise your questions and comments, or the text box in the room can be used for responding or asking questions. The technology is easy to use. If the classroom isn't available we will use Skype as an alternative.
How many others in the class at the same time?
There will be a maximum of 10 students per classroom session. This does not, however, limit when new students may enrol - you do not need to wait for the current 10 week session to finish as we are starting new sessions as they are needed. More classroom sessions will be made available as each one fills. Attending the class sessions is optional and not compulsory - you can continue with your lessons on your own time schedule.
What kind of time commitment can I expect to give to the course?
There will be the online classroom session fortnightly for one hour (optional), phone/Skype support (if required), weekly lessons to read and exercises to carry out. It is anticipated that approximately 3-5 hours a week will be required to undertake the course.
When will the class start?
The first program delivery took place on 10th July 2006. Students are welcome to join any time and their first lesson will arrive two days after their application and payment is processed.
What is the cost for this coaching program?
$675AUD. $67.50AUD a week!

What if I don't want to do the training course but would like some coaching instead?
This may apply to those who have been operating for some time but don't feel they're getting anywhere and want to get to the next level with their business. You can elect to buy time blocks, email me what you need to cover in advance (to give me time to assess my answers and what's needed) and then we chat via Skype, phone or web conferencing room. Each person's need is different but we would work with half hour blocks of $75AUD per half hour or $120AUD for an hour.
Do I have to leave my job to get started?
I've had a few enquiries along this line so thought it good to add my response here. No, you do not need to quit your fulltime job to get started, and in fact, I would not advise it, unless you have some other income stream and were able to do without your current wage for a period of time. Building a business takes time and it will not happen overnight. It is reasonable to expect that you could do client work during the evenings and weekends - not all clients need things to happen right now (although many think they do, the reality is they often don't as long as they know the work is being done and soon).
However, as your client base and work starts to grow you might consider moving from a fulltime job to a part-time job, to give you more hours in your own office, with the goal of going fulltime at some stage. I was fulltime in the first 12 months, but not all have that same experience, for many it's around two years. It's good to set a goal and to focus on it to get things happening.
I notice you're in Australia and I'm not, is that a problem?
No, it isn't. It doesn't matter where you are or where I am, what matters is that you have the skills and capabilities for being a VA and that you need the guidance and training to get started. This course is entirely virtual so as long as you can read and write English and understand what is needed then you are eligible for the course. The course is designed for English speaking/writing Virtual Assistants, irrespective of their location.
